Winsor & Newton Artists Oil Paint Viridian Hue S2

Winsor & Newton Artists Oil Paint Viridian Hue S2

Viridian was first produced in Paris in 1838 by the colourist Binet as a substitute for the hazardous genuine Emerald Green, which was an aceto-arsenite of copper. Traditional Viridian, a very transparent variety of Chronium Sesquioxide, was named after the Latin word for green 'viridis'. With our newly created modern and safe pigment composition, we have achieved a shade that is almost indistinguishable from the original in terms of colour, transparency and longevity.
